Lexia® Core5® Reading is a personalized, adaptive, blended learning program designed to meet the diverse needs of Canadian students from pre-K to grade 5. Core5 develops foundational reading and advanced literacy skills, aligning with provincial curricula across Canada.
Through high-quality instruction and ongoing Assessment Without Testing® (AWT) data, Core5 enables students to learn and practise skills at their own pace and level, while providing Canadian educators with detailed insights into student progress and access to specialized instructional resources. Core5 supports students with a wide range of learning needs, addressing all tiers and abilities—including English- and French-language learners and Indigenous students—across the country.
Core5 motivates Canadian students through interactive activities, colourful animations, and progress tracking. Students set goals, monitor achievements, and celebrate successes, building confidence and perseverance. All students receive personalized weekly recommendations, empowering them to advance at their own pace and level.
All students using Core5 receive a Prescription of Intensity to guide their weekly use of the online program. These personalized usage recommendations allow students across the full continuum of needs to advance their skills.
Core5’s scaffolding helps students succeed, even with new material. Fun facts and global journeys keep learning engaging. The dashboard displays targets and skills, giving all students agency to track progress. Completing a level brings certificates, celebrating achievement, and building motivation.
Lexia’s Assessment Without Testing is integrated into all curriculum programs, giving Canadian educators real-time data on student progress without disrupting classroom instruction for testing. This unique approach not only helps teachers understand where their students are, but also creates data-driven action plans so educators—no matter their background—can deliver targeted, effective instruction.
